Meri Rose Ekberg

The value of art lies beyond just improving quality of life, it forms community connections, builds economic stability, and engages diverse audiences in critical dialogue about our world. As an arts administrator, I nurture meaningful connections between artists and the public through festivals, exhibitions, and public art initiatives.

I currently serve as the Community & Cultural Resources Planner for the City of Madison, where I coordinate public art projects and assist in historic preservation planning. I am also the Managing Director of Make Music Madison, a non-profit dedicated to producing a community music celebration that is "Performed by Anyone, and Enjoyed by Everyone." I have previous experience in exhibition curation, performing arts administration, collection management, digital archiving, event planning, and web design. I pride myself on thinking critically, acting efficiently, and creating exemplary arts events that bring people together.
